The brainchild of one of the most dominant American professional bass anglers and a highly regarded lure designer from Japan, the Apex Vibe 100 is much more than just a giant lipless crankbait. Featuring an oversized profile, heavy weight, and unique pulsation, the Apex Vibe seeks to offer deepwater anglers a new niche presentation within lipless crankbait fishing. Anglers will find the action to be a slower thumping vibration as opposed to the rapid buzz achieved by most lipless crankbaits. This thumping action displaces large amounts of water and gives the bait a meandering wobble that pressured fish may not be used to seeing. The Apex Vibe functions well on both a straight retrieve or with the increasingly popular “yo-yo” style retrieve where the bait is aggressively ripped upwards through the water with a lift of the rod tip, then allowed to fall on slack line. When paused or allowed to fall, the bait does so keel-first and at an angle, and will rest on the bottom in an upright position if bottom contact is made.
